A few months ago, Dr. Melissa Deer embarked on a bold project to revitalize the aesthetics of our combined clinic by engaging local artists to produce work that reflects the cultural and context of the population we serve... and she is making
progress! We'll be showcasing the initiative with more detail as it develops and and the transformation continues so check back here to hear more... We're very proud of Dr. Deer and the time, effort, and resources she is spending on what we know will make an incredible difference in how our patients view us and the clinic that serves them.

Dr. Katie Hirst is the course director for an upcoming CME offering through UCSD.. "Infertility and Pregnancy Loss: Getting Your Patients the Emotional Help They Need." The program is jointly presented by Dr. Hirst's Maternal Mental Health Clinic in association with The Center for Reproductive Psychology at UC, San Diego. The UCSD Combined program will be sending Drs. Kristy Lamb and Kelley DeLeeuw to Kansas City at the end of July to the AAFP National Conference for Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students. We'll be joining our colleagues in UCSD Family Medicine at their table and standing by ready to chat up any would-be combos about what we're all about. So once a year, at the time for welcoming new interns and congratulating graduating 5th years, our program co-director Dr. Folsom invites all of the residents and their families over to his house for Ranchos enchiladas and a big Mexican feast. When we say all of us...I don't mean just the 10 of us in the program, but all combos who have ever graduated from our program. It is an incredible night of reconnecting, inspiring, celebrating and... well, combining! This year was no exception with alumni from the first graduating class all the way through our new interns we feasted and roasted and toasted and as always it was a fabulous night. Thanks again so much to Dr. Folsom and his family for opening up their home to us all. We can't wait 'til next year!!
