The UCSD Combined Program Is There for the San Diego Cold Weather Shelter Opening!

Dr. Lamb (white coat) assists during the intake of over 220 shelter residentsThe city of San Diego's winter shelter for the homeless opened Monday at the foot of Newton Avenue in Barrio Logan. The shelter is operated by the Alpha Project for the Homeless and has beds for about 225 women and men. Each year the UCSD Combined Program provides medical and psychiatric screening services and returns weekly to become the primary physicians for patients living in the "tent."
