In the course of their rotations in family medicine and in psychiatry, our residents work with a number of faculty in both departments, as well as interacting with faculty from other specialties during off-service and sub-specialty rotations.
We believe that an essential ingredient in combined training is the opportunity to receive clinical supervision and mentorship from dually trained faculty. In our continuity clinic at St Vincent de Paul Village, combined residents regularly work with dually-trained attending physicians, who model the integration of the skill sets from both disciplines.
