Hannah Gee, MD
It’s a little awkward to talk about myself and seems very unhelpful to reiterate my curriculum vitae.
I’ll start with some biographical information. I grew up in some large inner cities and spent most of my adult life there. Except for college, I spent four years in the small rural town of Urbana-Champaign. My biological family, who I sorely miss, lives on the East Coast. It took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, but I needed that time. Along the way I realized that connections with other people were my top 3 most favorite things. In a slower, over the course of time, building that trust foundation, kind of way.
So now I’m here in San Diego; still trying to figure out what I got myself into, how I got here, what it means to be a part of this training program, and what it means to be a doctor, or a ma’am, or a Hannah human. So far, I have learned that I am indeed an introvert, that community is more important than ever, and that I have been reluctant to set down roots. About this work we do, it is always complex and challenging. However this clinic/organization simply tries to do what they can, for people who have a hard time, fitting into this societal construct of “normal.” The role I have tried to take on, is one that can meet people where they are, in their lives and in that moment.
I recharge with the sunrise and plentiful bounty of outdoor hikes/spaces that is all around. There’s a mountain, a desert, and an ocean all within a 15 minute dry away, at all times. I enjoy art projects, reading, petting animals, and finding places to nap.
